Full Plates Full Potential, Maine’s only statewide child hunger organization, recently announced the York County 2019 16 County Summer Grant Competition winners. Both RSU 23, which includes Old Orchard Beach, and Biddeford Schools will each receive a $500 Summer Meals Program Grant to support their 2020 summer programs. Read more ›

Congratulations to 8th grader Andrew Hodgkins who qualified for the State Geography Bee. Andrew completed a written test created by the National Geographic Society and has been invited to attend the Maine State Geography Bee to be held at the University of Maine Farmington on March 27th. All winners of the various state bees are then eligible to compete in the National Geographic GeoBee in Washington, D.C., May 17-21.

School was out this summer, but it was still a busy time for the Regional School Unit 23 food service staff, which served more than 7,000 meals through its Summer Meals Program. Click here for the Journal Tribune article.
The first annual 50+ dinner was a big success tonight. We had one hundred people we served, all from the community. We had oldies music, a 50/50 raffle and lots of smiles, hugs, and fun!
