What I do

In her spare time, Nancy enjoys downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, swimming, biking, and participating in triathlons. Nancy is the race director for the Great Scot Trot, a road race held at Bonny Eagle High School to benefit the Faith Littlefield/Flossie Smith scholarship fund.  

Nancy Smith is the School Psychologist for RSU 23. Nancy completes psychological evaluations for students who are referred to special education. She also conducts triennial evaluations for students currently receiving special education services. Nancy provides ongoing consultation to staff around students’ learning and behavioral needs.

After growing up in rural Maine, Nancy attended Colby College. She has a Master’s of Education from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education, and a Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of Rhode Island. Nancy recently completed a program in School Neuropsychology. Nancy has been a Psychologist practicing in Southern Maine for 20 years where she has worked in numerous school systems. Nancy previously worked in a private practice, Thornton Heights Psychological Services, before coming to work for RSU 23.
